Organization Profile
BCFT is a professional association of technologists and scientists in industry, government and academia committed to advancing food science and technology. We are members of both CIFST and IFT and share professional ties with the Packaging Association of Canada, BC Food Protection Association, the Food Innovation Centre of BC, and Western Canadian Functional Food & Natural Health Product Network, amongst others.
Our mission is to advocate and promote the quality, safety and wholesomeness of the North American food supply through the application of science and technology.
The organization is operated by volunteers from the food industry who work in all areas of food processing, manufacturing, research & product development, sales, quality control/quality assurance, analytical services, human resources, management and production. We gladly accept the participation of members to serve on the board of executives. Volunteers are needed and treated well.
