Who/What is the BC Food Safety Stakeholders Group?

The BC Food Safety Stakeholders Group (BCFSSG) is comprised of a diverse range of stakeholders spanning consumer, industry, academic and government organizations. Formed in 2009, the BCFSSG brings together many stakeholders responsible for and impacted by food safety. Originally consists of 25 active members representing 15 unique organizations, the structure has evolved over time to now include 23 active members representing 22 unique organizations. Thousands of firms are represented through their industry associations. The Stakeholders Group will identify significant food safety issues facing all sectors of the agri-food continuum and work towards a more strategic, integrated approach to advance food safety in British Columbia. The BC Food Technologists is one member of the BCFSSG and is making this information available on behalf of the BCFSSG.

BCFSSG gratefully acknowledges support through the Growing Forward program, a federal-provincial-territorial initiative, from the Government of Canada and the Government of British Columbia.
